Serene 20/20 Self-Analysis: "The '24 Originals Happening Now' album was based on Tan incredible TV record offer which my sister ordered in 1967 that was like a miracle of science- 24 Original Happening Hits!!! My God! Later I realized they faded every 2 and a half minute song a minute early. 'I Got You Babe' was almost over when Sonny was Still taking inventory of all the things he and Cher had amassed."
"Each track on 24OHN was meant to be a different band and a different musical idiom. The band I made up here was Analog Cabin- an electroclash album. I still don't know what that is supposed to be but my impression was it was Depeche Mode made with cheap synths and household utensils. The crack sound was a battery operated baseball bat they gave away on Bat Day that made a bat crack sound."
Song it most closely rips off: "'Tomorrow Never Knows" because the melody is kinda monotonous and because when I was a kid I always thought the drone was an electric razor. I'd always wanted to record a song with an actual shaver."
lyrics
Maintenance
words and music by Serene Dominic
No ones looking forward to the future
Like they used to yesterday
There's no wonder in the world of tomorrow
It's in my mirror each morn i wake
Fix you up 20 days to a better you
Build your hopes up you're on the threshold of a breakthrough
But after 40 it's only maintenance
Jim Cherry said at best it's maintenance
Used to live on our imaginations
After the war, before TV
See the boy with the coonskin cap pointing his telescope at me
Win the world over win the world you're grandfathered in
Tell him start running now
I've seen every place he's been
But after 40 it's only maintenance
Jim Cherry said at best it's maintenance
I need divine intervention to reverse my fate
Steamroller me into salvation, slide me under heaven's gate...
