lyrics
City woman
The hardest thing you’ll ever do
Is start anew
City woman
No guarantees what’s waiting there
In the open air
You’re always going to be a city woman
In the hills of Tennessee, you’re a city woman
Glistening with class
You won’t give fools a pass
You’ve seen all there is
And this is how your life should be
Go and realize your dream
City Woman
City woman
The neon lights shine through your eyes
So don’t think twice
City Woman
You’re streets ahead of everyone
Walk don’t run
You’re always going to be a city woman
In the canyons of Bisbee you’re a city woman
Earned your peace and quiet
Though you’re overqualified
You’re the one who comes and goes
Takes the good times with the blows
You’ll be sought never bought
City Woman
You’re always going to be a city woman
In the canyons of Bisbee you’re a city woman
My love for you grows and grows
City woman
Gonna miss you, heaven knows
City woman
City woman
City woman
Serene: "Last year when I was doing livecasts regularly (will bring back The Human Torch Floor Show soon) , I took a liking to "Deep in The Eyes of a New York Woman" by BJ Thomas and started doing that a few times before BJ succumbed to cancer, I was thinking I wanted to write a song like that and also the Mary Tyler Moore theme but telling a woman moving to a rural community that you're gonna make it on your own out there in the sticks, That's basically it. This was an early favorite during the early weeks of February and the first wholly brand new song that popped up.
New on the always-great label Velvet Blue Music is “Slow Parade” from Gileah Taylor, boasting warm songs built on piano and guitar. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 26, 2024
