about
When San Jacinto Prison Warden William Crosley realized the Scared Witless program his facility introduced was not deterring kids from pursuing a life of crime and in fact was creating new felons daily, he thought it'd be best to start a program that didn't talk down to the kids and made them realize how little dumb luck is actually required to wind up on death row. To that he formed the San Jacinto Death Row Prison Band. "Every last one of the musicians is one overturned sentence from fryig in a chair," said Crosley diplomatically.
lyrics
SAN JACINTO DEATH ROW PRISON BAND
written and performed by SERENE DOMINIC
I’m a habitual liar,
Although that’s not strictly true
There’s never been a girl named Hope
From Manhattan to Moshulu
I’ll tell you what her name is
Maybe in a song or two
No one’s ever planned this federal reprimand
San Jacinto Death Row Prison Band
Since I crossed paths with that woman
Oh I’ve been doing time I had everything to live for
Now I wouldn’t really mind Dying to be over
Waiting for my flesh to fry
No one’s ever planned this federal reprimand
San Jacinto Death Row Prison Band
We had a guy, was named Barone
Blew tenor sax and slide trombone
But they gave him the hot seat
Cause the governor never phoned
We lost our featured soloist
To solitary confinement
So now here we stand
By unpopular demand San Jacinto Death Row Prison Band
